Marissa began classical dance training at the age of five, and has over 20 years of experience as a dance educator, choreographer, and fitness instructor. She was a member of the prestigious Towson University Dance Team, winning four NDA National Titles as a member, captain, and assistant coach.
Marissa first experienced viral success in 2011, garnering millions of views for her Lady Gaga dance tutorials on YouTube, and was selected for a national television commercial for Lady Gaga and Google Chrome. She has been sharing her love of dance and pop culture online and in-person ever since, creating a large community of friends and fans around the world.
Marissa has been working as a dance fitness instructor in NYC for nearly ten years, being featured in publications like the New York Times and Time Out New York. In 2022, she launched her own company, POPOGRAPHY Dance Fitness, with the goal of providing fun and inclusive dance fitness classes for all.
Marissa has continued to grow her social media presence, partnering on campaigns with brands like Warner Bros. Entertainment and the Radio City Rockettes. POPOGRAPHY has partnered to provide classes at Google Headquarters, and on the iconic NYC Circle Line.
When she is not in the studio, Marissa loves traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with her husband and dog.
